PRLog - May 5, 2014 - NICHOLSON, Pa. -- Wineries from Northeast PA, the Endless Mountains and Bucks County will highlight the Nicholson Volunteer Fire Company’s “Vineyards by the Viaduct” event, Saturday May 10th. The 5th annual event offers samplings of over 80 wines along with live entertainment by the Joe Kopicki Band with opening act Retro Rocket beginning at Noon. Along with the wide variety of wines and live music, guests will also enjoy a variety of food vendors including the first Fire Company Potato Pancakes of the season, Ma Greenley’s BBQ, crab cakes, burgers, pretzel sandwiches and much more. Fine Arts and Crafts, jewelry, and others are also slated to participate in the event that has drawn hundreds to the Nicholson Carnival Grounds.

Tickets for the Nicholson Volunteer Fire Company’s fourth annual “Vineyards by the Viaduct” Wine Festival are on sale and can be purchased on-line at www.nicholsonfireco.com, Peoples Security Bank and Trust, Lochen & Chase, PC, the Hotel Almont, Nimble Hill Wine Tasting Room, the Office Bar & Grill and Francine Kiryluk’s Hair Studio. Advanced tickets are only $15. Designated Driver Tickets are just $5. Tickets will be available at the gate for $25. Again this year, the event takes place at the Nicholson Carnival Grounds, Park Avenue, just off route 92, in Nicholson, PA from Noon until Six.
The year’s list of wineries includes Northeast PA favorites, Nimble Hill Vineyard and Winery. Nimble Hill limits their attendance at wine festivals, but continued to include “Vineyards by the Viaduct” knowing that one-hundred percent of the proceeds benefit the Nicholson Fire company. You will also find Maiolatesi’s Wine Cellars of Scott Township, a favorite amongst local wine lover, offering such flavors as their Sweet Tea Wine and Blueberry Wine. Grovedale Winery and Vineyard of Wyalusing, PA returns with a variety of award winning wines along with Antler Ridge Winery whose Red Vixen wine has been a favorite of attendees in the past. The Ferrone Family Winery of Peckville will also be on hand with their variety of Reds, Whites, and Fruit Wines. Hidden Creek out of Laceyville will offer favorites such as their Mud Wasp (a chocolate wine) and Dew Drop (honey dew melon). Attendees look forward to the return of Sand Castle Winery from Erwinna, PA featuring their Alpine Spice flavor chilled on ice or warmed. Also amongst the wineries, you will find Peace Valley, another Bucks County Winery from Chalfont, PA. There is certain to be a good representation of Red and White Wines along with Dry, Semi-Dry, Semi-Sweet, Sweet, Fruit, and Port Wines available at the event.
