Canadian Rock Band Quartered split from Thorny Bleeder/Universal Music and release new Music Video

NANAIMO, British Columbia - May 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Vancouver, Canada – May 5, 2014 – One of Canada’s foremost Alternative Metal acts, Quartered, has sur- prised fans with the release of a stand-alone single and music video for their new song “Casa”. In an uncon- ventional move, Quartered has elected to release the single for free to fans on their website www.quartered.ca, before it is officially released as a digital exclusive worldwide on May 20.

“Casa” is Quartered’s first independent effort since splitting with Thorny Bleeder Records/Universal Music fol- lowing their 2010 release Walks Like A Ghost, and is a lead up to their sophomore release, the Eyes and Ears EP, which is due out summer of 2014.

“We decided to release “Casa” for free simply because our fans deserve it.” says Greggor Williams, vocalist of Quartered. “The support and love that they’ve given us is something we could never come close to repaying, we’re happy to share “Casa” with them. It’s important to us that our Filipino fans can get it as well, we know some of them are still recovering from the Typhoons last year, they’ve definitely got better things to do than figure out how to get us a dollar.”

Following their previous release Walks like a Ghost, Quartered performed two two tours in the Philippines
with national favourites Slapshock, and shared the stage with metal legends Lamb of God and Testament to a crowd of over 35,000 at Amoranto Stadium in Manila, an area which was severely affected by Typhoon Haiyan in late 2013.

The music video for “Casa”, was shot and directed by Charles Schrodt of Full Speed Ahead Productions, and was released at an intimate sold out party at famous downtown Vancouver Rock/Metal bar “The Moose”.

Both the upcoming Eyes and Ears EP and “Casa” were produced by Royce Whittaker at Spinnaker Sounds Studio in White Rock, Canada.

“Casa” will be available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, CdBaby, as well as streaming sites Rdio and Spotify May 20.

A selection of Quartered’s songs from previous releases are available now on Harmonix’ Rock Band video game, with “Casa” joining them later this month.

The band is currently booking a Western Canada and US tour following the release of the “Eyes and Ears EP”

as well as select festival dates in Asia.
