“Proexport Colombia and PRONicaragua have risen to the first spots, leaving behind a considerable space from the rest of the agencies”, highlighted the study, which can be downloaded in Geovadis’s website.
In terms of score, the first five positions of the 2014 OMIX were Proexport Colombia, PRONicaragua, PROESA El Salvador, Uruguay XXI and ProEcuador.
The study also reveals that “surprisingly, some of the economic development agencies of larger countries with more resources such as Argentina, Mexico or Brazil, occupy positions relatively low in the ranking.”
PRONicaragua is the official investment and export promotion agency of the Government of Nicaragua, founded in 2002. The continuous support of the government has allowed the agency to obtain excellent results in the past few years. Additionally, in 2012, the World Bank recognized PRONicaragua as the world’s top investment facilitator, becoming the first developing country to do so. The agency achieved best-practice standards in website performance and response to investor inquiries.
