When not working, Andrew Barer spends to spend time with his wife and children. He and his wife, Debbi have been married for more than 22 years, and are still best friends to this day. They love and care about each other deeply and love spending time together whether walking in the woods, enjoying a day in Manhattan, or a Friday night at the movies sharing some popcorn. Their son, Logan is now a freshman in college. Debbi and Andrew are so grateful that he still enjoys and seeks out opportunities to include them in his life. They treasure the visits and phone conversations they have with him. Logan is a cancer survivor, which is a reality that adds an extra dimension to every moment they spend together. Andrew and Debbi also have fraternal twins, Milo and Eli. Andrew smiles as he describes how Milo takes after her mother. He calls her “a force of nature,” who is full of life and full of love. Her enthusiasm for life is limitless. Milo welcomes her parents into her life and enjoys sharing her experiences with them. Last, but not least is Eli. Eli has Down syndrome and much of his journey has been a struggle. What comes easily for others is often a challenge for Eli and a good deal of Andrew and Debbi’s time goes toward helping him find his way.
Andrew Barer has always had a passion for playing and coaching basketball. He has also always had a passion for spending time in the wild outdoors. Camping, hiking, and sea kayaking are some of his favorite activities. He also enjoys photography, ever since an enthusiastic art teacher introduced him to it some 40 years ago, back in his middle school days.
The best thing that has ever happened to him is meeting Debbi Greene and having her become Debbi Greene Barer, in addition to the births of their three wonderful children.
