Carrie Young, Ideal Boilers’ Head of Marketing said:
“This is great news for the industry. Replacing an old gas boiler with an A-rated high-efficiency condensing one with a full set of heating controls, could save people as much as £305 a year (according to the Energy Saving Trust).
“But installers will know that because of the upfront costs, many people will continue with their low efficiency system for as long as they can.
“The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund makes it more affordable for householders to improve the efficiency of their homes, and hopefully installers will get extra work as a result - now that’s a win-win.”
Under the scheme customers can receive up to £1000 for installing two measures from their Green Deal Advice Report or Energy Performance Certificate, and/or up to £6000 for installing solid wall insulation, and up to £100 refunded for their Green Deal Assessment.
The customer has to register for their GDHIF voucher and, when the work is completed and signed by their Green Deal Installer, they submit it with their invoice and Green Deal Assessment Report invoice, and they’ll receive their money back in 10 working days.
