Festival Yachad brings “Life” to South Florida!

AVENTURA, Fla. - May 1, 2014 - PRLog -- The largest Israeli Dance Festival in the U.S., Festival Yachad, sponsored by Safra National Bank of New York, will celebrate the Land and Culture of Israel with more than 800 dancers. Israeli Dance troupes from Mexico, Panama, Canada, Peru & Brazil will join 600 dancers from the
Michael-Ann Russell JCC. “Since the Festival is in it’s 18^th year of bringing spectacular performances to South Florida audiences, it is fitting that this year’s theme is"Chai," which in Hebrew means “Life”- and also signifies the Hebrew number 18, explains Roger Weiger, Director of the MAR-JCC’s  Bamachol Dance Academy and Artistic Director for Festival Yachad. “We will celebrate, through dance, our rich heritage and connection to the Land of Israel featuring colorful costumes, unique musical arrangements and choreography, dramatic sound and light effects, and beautiful scenery. “The theme of ‘Chai’ will enable each dance choreography to depict various aspects of Jewish life,” Roger adds. Performances include:

1- A Showcase Performance featuring over 200 dancers from abroad, will take place on Friday, May 23 at 10am, at the Michael-Ann Russell JCC, for students and seniors.

2- A Gala Performance will be held at the world renowned Au-Rene Theatre at the Broward Center
for the Performing Arts, on Sunday, May 25, at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased online at the Broward Center's website.

3- A Children's Performance, sponsored by Amalia Children's Fine Jewelry, will be held on Sunday, June 1, at the Julius Littman Theater for the Performing Arts, in North Miami Beach, at 5pm. Tickets may be purchased at the MAR-JCC (305) 932-4200, ext: 152.
