April 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Molly the Fire Safety Dog, a Dalmatian whose efforts have reached tens of thousands of children across the United States and throughout the world with her fire safety efforts, is headed to New York City to share fire safety at the Paws for Style charity event to benefit the Humane Society of New York.

Firefighter Dayna Hilton, fire safety educator and handler of Molly, announced today the two would be participating in the event on May 13th. “ This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for Molly and I to share fire safety in a unique way. Molly will be in uniform to walk the runway and I will have fire safety messages included in my attire and I will carry a smoke alarm with me.” In addition, the two will carry the names of firefighters from donors who wanted to honor past, current and future firefighters.

The Paws For Style event was created in 1999, and is the original and premiere pet fashion show, benefiting The Humane Society of New York’s Lucky Diamond Critical Care Ward. The Humane Society of New York is a non-kill shelter and low-cost animal clinic for dogs, cats and exotics by appointment established in 1904.  All dogs in the facility are micro-chipped and current on their vaccinations.  The Lucky Diamond Critical Care Ward at The Humane Society of New York supports animals in dire need, providing pet parents and animals’ affordable critical health care that they might not have received otherwise. Lucky Diamond, the rescued Maltese was the inspiration for Animal Fair Media, and passed away from canine cancer in 2012.

“I'm so excited because the event has an impressive list of past Paws For Style celebrity dog walkers, including Hayden Paniettiere, Real Housewives of New York, Today Show’s Natalie Morales, Beth Stern, Tina Fey, Cornelia Guest, Hilary and Haylie Duff, Vanessa Trump, Richard Belzer, Carson Kressley, Thom Filicia and Jai Rodriguez, Paula Abdul, Gabriel Byrne, Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20, Vanessa Williams, Hilary Swank, Veronica Webb, and a bevy of Ford Models.”

According to Hilton, the Paws For Style event in 2013 generated over 200 million media impressions with being featured on Bravo! Media that covers the event includes; Access Hollywood, E! Entertainment Tonight, Extra, Today Show, People Magazine, W, People, The New York Times, Time Magazine, In Style, CNN, Fox News and many other media outlets. “This is the one chance to reach more people with the fire safety message than we ever imagined!”

“We just now started raising funding expenses for the trip. Any amount would be appreciated. No amount too small. Donations are 100% tax deductible”

The two will leave for New York City on May 10th.
