Follow on Google News | The ‘Younger Generation Influence’ On The EnvironmentBy: Paper Bag Company One young boy in particular is Abdul Muqeet, aged 12, who has won an award for distributing over 6000 homemade paper bags to the local shopkeepers in his neighbourhood, free of charge. Abdul, from Abu Dhabi, won the Non-Resident Indian of the Year Award and is known by his friends as Mukku, which is now represented on each of his bags. The 12 year old has built up quite the reputation for his paper bags and first decided to create them after learning about the harms that plastic bags can inflict on the environment while at school. This is not the only award that Abdul has won though. In fact, last year he picked up the Abu Dhabi Award and was named the first Middle-Eastern attendee at the Maryland Kid are Heroes event. This event featured a number of likeminded young people who each share an interest in our environment. Abdul, like many others that attended this event, are always looking for ways to help our environment and has decided to set up his own environmental club for children back home with a hope to inspire people his own age to be as involved as he is. Tasks that he will be looking for other children to help him with will include things like beach clean-ups. Abdul is not alone in his quest to improve the planet though, and he, like many other children his age, have a real interest in doing what they can to help our planet. It isn’t just paper bags that can help to save the environment though, there are plenty of other ways too which the younger generation will continue to be experimenting with.
