Worth Taking To Release Punk Cover RecordBy: Worth Taking SAN FRANCISCO - April 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Worth Taking is bringing their take on some old classics in the new cover EP "Punker Than Thou." The Ramones, Green Day and MxPx are all covered in this EP that is punk enough for you, but pop enough for your mom.
“We didn’t want to cover songs that everyone else had covered,” front man Jerod McBrayer said. Set to release May 27, 2014, the songs featured on the EP are lesser known pieces. Even though the bands are significant, you might have to listen a little closer to find some of these songs. One of the songs “The Empire,” originally by MxPx, even features MxPx’s own Mike Herrera. “Even though these are notable bands, they are not their biggest songs,” McBrayer continued. Why two songs? The guys of Worth Taking wanted to go a little further into the bands’ catalogs. “We chose to do two songs from each band to dig a bit deeper,” McBrayer explained. The blend of well-known bands with more obscure song choices is one that showcases Worth Taking’s ability as musicians as well as their fine-tuned ears for updating the classics. End
