Sparks, NV --- April 15, 2014 --- Keller Williams associates may be taking the day off on Thursday, May 8, 2014, but it will hardly be a day of rest. Associates with the Keller Williams Realty Group One Sparks have chosen to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, the company's annual day of service, dedicated to renewing, energizing, and donating to their local communities.

As part of the RED Day effort, Keller Williams Realty Group One Sparks

has chosen to spend the day The Eddy House in Reno, NV.  The Eddy House is a non-profit organization that provides supportive residential housing to young adult males who have “aged out” of the foster care system. The home provides a safe place for these youth to pursue their educational goals and learn valuable life skills. The Eddy House also offers a work experience program through

Z-Pie Reno, a local restaurant where the residents learn job skills and build a resume.

"RED Day is built on the belief that people can and should come together to achieve extraordinary things to help others," said Broker/ Team Leader David Hilbig.  “Last year, we constructed a playhouse for auction to benefit Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity.  We can’t tell you what an impact it made on each of us personally. We all know that filling all the gaps in our communities can't be accomplished by serving just once a year. RED Day just happens to be the one-day expression of the constant state of the Keller Williams culture. We see a need, discover who can meet it and get it done.”

Christine Price, from Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity had this to say:

“Keller Williams participation, energy and enthusiasm  made for a great fundraising event. The proceeds from this event were over $3,000.00 and aided in the completion of house #13 in Stead.”

Since the first RED Day in 2009, Keller Williams associates have given almost a half million hours of community service through activities ranging from food and blood drives to cleaning up trash in public parks, revamping gardens at nursing homes and rebuilding homes and schools for community members in need. To this day, it is one of the largest events in the real estate industry.
