Traditionally trained as a fine art printmaker at Cal State University Northridge, he has worked in a variety of media with the consistent thru-line of skewering the establishment and considering everything in its place. For Stuart, context, both in terms of formal convention and artistic execution is tantamount. The medium is the message, and vice-versa. itmarksthespot is pleased to present a suite of recent intaglio prints whose inky images have been incised into thick cotton paper by environmental detritus gathered around Stuart’s LA neighborhood whilst on walks with his dogs.
