Follow on Google News | Sugar Land Public Safety Dispatch Achieves Total Response AccreditationAccreditation Marks Commitment in the Public Safety Industry
By: Sugar Land Public Safety Dispatch Center This important designation serves as a mark of excellence in the public safety industry. The Sugar Land team embarked a dynamic process to standardize to define quality, service and measure performance. Through this process, the commitment to providing quality service and agency accountability in emergency call handling was proven. Following adoption of standardized protocols and training in PowerPhone’s Total Response Fire Dispatch (FSD) system, the personnel at Sugar Land’s Public Safety Dispatch Center adopted the formal accreditation process as part of their ongoing commitment to providing the highest standard of care in the industry. The department began with a self-assessment of their call handling and dispatch function to help establish a baseline against which future operations could be compared. With the help of the staff at PowerPhone, Sugar Land was able to define the standards they wanted to meet and develop an action plan to achieve those standards. “Our agency implemented PowerPhone’s Total Response protocols in an effort to enhance the quality of service we provide to our customers. Since implementation, we have worked side by side with PowerPhone to ensure that our agency adopted practices and standards to support continuous improvement in our operations. We are honored to receive Total Response Accreditation, as it is a validation of our staff’s successes and our commitment to upholding the highest standards.” said Public Safety Dispatch Manager, Shannon Price In accordance with the accreditation guidelines, a percentage of the emergency calls were randomly selected and retrospectively reviewed for compliance and to measure effectiveness. The purpose of this practice is to promote continuous improvement through the identification of performance strengths and areas requiring additional adjustment. “The Sugar Land Public Safety Dispatch Center is an agency that is committed to providing quality service to the citizens of their community. The administration at Sugar Land has made a considerable effort to organize and define their program. The staff at the Sugar Land Public Safety Dispatch Center is very involved in the program and commended for their performance on a regular basis.
