Sleepy Time Headrest
School Bus Fleet is a primary industry resource for information in regards to school bus safety and products in the US. The Sleepy Time Headrest is a product new to the industry that will greatly assist in providing safe, comfortable support for transporting children with special needs.
Sherri Marbutt-President of Sleepy Time stated in the interview,"I invented this product for my daughter because she couldn’t keep her head up in her car seat,” She added that in the years since she first developed and began testing the headrest, interest from those in the special-needs industry has grown substantially, and Marbutt now views the headrest as having a larger purpose: to provide comfort for individuals with special needs.
The Sleepy Time Headrest’s design is patented, and it has been dynamically crash tested and approved according to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213 (FMVSS 213).
The Georgia based company is working to increase awareness about their product in the special-needs market. Marbutt said she works closely with Children’s of Alabama and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the two major children's healthcare providers in the southeast. She also works with Therapists and parents of children with special-needs. She would also like to introduce her product to the school bus industry so that students with special-needs have more comfort and support as they travel to and from school.
