MT. OLIVE, N.J. - April 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Eleventh Hour Rescue announces its second annual Pours for Paws – A Taste of Morris County for food, wine, beer, and animal lovers on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Meadow Wood Manor on Route 10 in Randolph, NJ. The event will benefit the rescue’s Building Hope Project, which aims to raise funds to construct a new, permanent shelter to house some of the more than 3,500 animals Eleventh Hour Rescues from death row each year.

In addition, Pours for Paws will celebrate the success and support of local restaurants and vendors. Tickets are $70 online ($60 for non-alcohol) and $80 ($70 for non-alcohol) at the door.

Guests will enjoy a wide array of incredible tapas-style cuisine from top area restaurants including Morris Tap & Grill, Nicole’s 10, Ava’s Cupcakes, Cinders Wood Fire Grill, Meadow Wood Manor, Cliff’s Ice Cream, Candylicious and many more. The event will also feature fine wines from around the world with varietals hailing from Italy, South America, and the United States. Craft beer will also be featured. Premier event sponsor Core Salon of Randolph is donating fabulous beauty services as prizes. There will be live music by Lelica & BD Lenz Duo and JT & Glenn of Oranges for Alice, games, and a spectacular array of silent auction items.

The second annual Pours for Paws event aims to continue the mission to raise funds for Eleventh Hour Rescue's Building Hope project. Building Hope is the effort to fund and construct a new kennel to be a permanent home base for the organization and their adoptable animals. Over the last few years, Eleventh Hour Rescue has been leasing a kennel facility to house some of the animals in its care and it is currently on the market to be sold.  “I lie awake at night worrying about the day that it does sell - where am I going to put all these lives we have committed to saving?” states Linda Schiller, Volunteer President and Founder.  Another issue is that the facility is old and run down. Some of the kennel runs are so beyond repair that it has rendered them useless.  Schiller continues; “To me, an empty kennel run is a life that could have been saved and that is unacceptable.  It’s time to open new doors to our own home, to secure the future for our animals and save more lives.”

She further describes, “The goal of Building Hope is to create a comfortable haven and a place of hope. Cold concrete and chain link enclosures are a thing of the past.  Specifically designed with our dogs in mind, the modern state of the art facility will be a healthier environment both physically and mentally.  Equipped with heated floors for comfort and ease of cleaning, solid enclosures and sound proofing to reduce stress, sound, and airborne illness.”

Eleventh Hour Rescue has already purchased the land and buildings in Mount Olive on Route 46. Building Hope aims to raise $1.5 million to create this new home. For additional information on Building Hope, please visit www.ehrdogs.org.
