TAMPA, Fla. - April 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Tampa, FLBARKS from the Guild, the quarterly magazine published online by The Pet Professional Guild (PPG), has undergone a complete overhaul this month in line with the PPG’s mission to educate pet owners about force-free training for their companion animals. BARKS has been redesigned and restructured with the addition of several new sections to ensure the publication retains a broad appeal amongst trainers, behaviorists, small business owners and pet owners.

In addition to the new look, BARKS has expanded its editorial team to include Susan Nilson as Editor-in-Chief with Kiki Yablon and Elizabeth Traxler as Contributing Editors. All members of the editorial team are experienced journalists who are also qualified animal behaviorist and training professionals and understand the science of behavior.

“Our goal has been to develop BARKS from its original format as an informal newsletter into a vibrant, educational business tool that will help members to expand their knowledge in all aspects of animal behavior and the science thereof,” said Niki Tudge, PPG Founder and President. “Not only do we aim to keep our members up-to-date with the latest developments in behavior and training, we also focus on the fundamentals of operating as an animal behavior professional to ensure members have knowledge of sales and marketing practices to build their individual businesses and keep them successful.”

The Pet Professional Guild is a 501(c)6 a member organization founded on the principles of force-free training and pet care. Its membership represents pet industry professionals who are committed to force-free training, pet care philosophies, practices and methods. Pet Professional Guild members understand force-free to mean: no shock, no pain, no choke, no fear, no physical force, no physical molding, and that no compulsion-based methods are employed to train or care for a pet.
