FORT MYERS, Fla. - April 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc. will be on-site at The Heights Center (15570 Hagie Drive, Fort Myers) Thursday, April 24 collecting gently used clothing and household goods. The community drive will begin at 9:00a.m. and end at 5:00p.m.

“We love the opportunity to partner with our local community,” says Goodwill spokesperson Madison Mitchell. “There are so many great organizations in Southwest Florida that these drives are a fun way to benefit both.”

In return for hosting the community drive, Goodwill will be providing “Goodwill Bucks” to The Heights Center to use in Goodwill Retail & Donation Centers located across Southwest Florida.

Goodwill Secure Shred will also be at the event from 1:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. collecting paper/documents for its document destruction program.

Items donated to Goodwill will go into Goodwill’s 29 Retail & Donation Centers across Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades, and Lee Counties to support the organization’s programs and services.

“All these donations go right back into helping our area,” says Mitchell.

Goodwill Retail & Donation Centers provide funding for Goodwill’s mission of helping people with disabilities and disadvantages by providing life-changing opportunities to achieve independence.  Supported programs include Job-Link resource centers, youth mentoring and career guidance, transportation assistance, income-sensitive housing for people with disabilities and senior citizens, and the L.I.F.E.
