To date, large number of student teams from various universities have already joined the contest. Interested students must fulfil the eligibility criteria and must participate in teams of two or three members only. The teams are required to register and submit their concept papers to www.business4better.ae on or before May 5, 2014. An evaluation committee including representatives from Western Union, Al Ansari Exchange and others, will jointly screen all submissions and will shortlist the top 15 concepts that will move to the final round. For the finals, student groups will be required to submit their business plans and present it to a panel of judges. The business plans must be in accordance with the original concept papers and must be submitted on or before May 25, 2014.
The annual ‘Business for Better’ competition is jointly run by Western Union Financial Services Inc. and Al Ansari Exchange. Now on its 3rd year, the competition reflects a strong business collaboration between the two companies that started more than 18 years ago. Both firms chose to support education as their as paying for education of loved ones back home one of the main reasons people remit money from the UAE.
