Jackie Bese, Board Member says, “I am excited to hear what this panel of experts will share from their daily activities in hiring and finding job candidates. I believe the sheer volume of jobs & hiring the panel represents will unveil a unique view in the latest in hiring trends and techniques.”

“Social Media should be part of a daily strategy for both candidates and employers alike. Everyone knows that a referral is the best way to find a job and social media provides an unprecedented way to capitalize on all those contacts that you have captured over the years. Long gone are the rolodex cards and cold calling tactics. A ‘warm lead’ is any social media contact you have collected even if they are six degrees away from your original contact.” Says Catherine Henesy, SPHR.

Social media has transformed the way people socialize, network and stay in touch. Large social networks come and go, and other ones like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter completely transform and redefine online trends.

One thing is abundantly clear: social media is now necessary for global commerce, and 2014 & beyond will be the catalyst for marketing positions through social media.  Then and Now Survey conducted in May 2013, social media marketing has exploded, with 87 percent of small businesses using social media as a marketing tool today.

“Your personal brand and your engaging social presence can help you stand out on social media” says Nisha Raghavan @theHRbuddy.
