Wheel Fun Rentals has been an advocate of children's programs since opening their doors in 1987. "We are invested in our youth," states WFR President, Al Stonehouse. "We offer free bike rentals to Big Brother Big Sister volunteers and we donate hundreds of gift certificates to local schools and charity organizations, but for this program, we felt compelled to do more. Keeping children's programs alive in our parks is important to us." Friends of Balboa Park will use the funds generated from this event to bring more than 8,700 San Diego Unified 5th grade students, and their teachers, to Balboa Park for class field trips. "The learning experience the students will receive at the park will be in-line with the core curriculum of the District, but it's hands-on learning they just can't get in a classroom," says Lorraine Schmalenberger, Administrative Director for Friends of Balboa Park. "We are thankful for kind donors like Wheel Fun Rentals who have stepped in to help fund this important program."
