Mt. San Antonio College Technical Students to compete for the opportunity to compete for Nationals SkillsUSA
 
WALNUT, Calif. - April 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Professors Max Lizarraga and Jim Uranga are preparing eight Mt. Sac students for the 47th Annual SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skill Conference that will take place at the San Diego Town and Country Convention Center Thursday, April 24 through Sunday April 27, 2014.

Four Technical Drafting and Design students Kevin Velasquez (Ontario), Carlos Galdamez (West Covina), Rhiannon Britney (West Covina), Sukhdav Singh (Chino); and four Electronic students Samuel Arrieta (Monrovia), Cesar Bustamante (Anaheim), Jose Gomez (Azusa), Hyun Cha (Rowland Heights) will compete.  These eight students qualified at the Regional SkillsUSA competitions and were invited to compete at the State level.

Gold Medalists at this State competition in their respective events qualify for the privilege to compete at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) to take place June 23-27, 2014 in Kansas City, Missouri.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel.

SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. It was formerly known as VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
