Fox Island native Don Edgers takes readers on a journey back through time by way of vintage photographs and intriguing captions. Edgers hope the book “shows a seemingly nondescript clump of land ─viewed from the Tacoma Narrows Bridges by thousands of people everyday─ having an interesting and vibrant history, and that it played an important part in the growth of South Puget Sound.” A portion of the proceeds are for the support of the Fox Island Historical Society. Highlights of Fox Island: · Features over 200 vintage photographs from personal collections and the Fox Island Historical Society’s archives, many of which have never been seen · Reveals the perspective of a Fox Island native who saw the land drastically change over his sixty years as a resident · Includes images of the Fox Island bridge, Camp TaHaDoWa and the brick-manufacturing company that was the island’s main industry at one time Join the Author for a Book Signing!
