Nu-jazz Alternative songwriter Caroline Ty releases her latest EP

April 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Kent based songwriter Caroline Ty releases her latest EP: 'The Monkey and the Smoke' in her distinctive Electro Nu-jazz Alternative fusion.  A bluesy soul with a pop heart, soulful and sometimes epically synth symphonic, the fifth self-penned and produced EP dissects fragile human relationships and complications with richly lyrical song themes and a merging of electronic and organic.

The title is an allusion to the La Fontaine's fable, "The Monkey and the Cat", where the cat gets nothing for its pains for helping the monkey to pull chestnuts from a fire.  The moral tale highlights those careless of the suffering of others in fulfilling their ambition and how people shamelessly use one another.  It refers to those who are being trampled in tight economic times and all those who trample on your heart when love becomes scarce.

Sometimes purring gently with chocolaty dark tales of love and sometimes swiping a cheeky paw at celebrity obsession.  An observation of human nature and a commentary on the absurd world we have built ourselves, a world filled with a political zeitgeist of money grabbing, deception, broken promises and foam fingers.

Featuring four original tracks: 'The Buzz of your Heartbeat', 'The Fall', 'Brighter Day' and 'Black Dog Blues'

The EP has been warmly received by Alternative radio stations in both the US and the UK.

Recorded and produced by Caroline Ty in her studio in Kent, mixed and mastered at Under the Bridge Studios based in Brighton.
