The Caribbean’s most influential voices come to Trinidad for 2014 Strategic HR Conference

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago - April 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Port of Spain, Trinidad,  April 20, 2014. The GES and ORBIT Solutions Caribbean Conference on Strategic Human Resource Management 2014 (http://www.globalexpertsystems.org/index.php/event/caribbean-conference-on-strategic-human-resource-management-2014/) will focus on assisting HR practitioners with the latest research and thought on the issues surrounding the use of social media in the workplace. The conference takes place April 29-30 at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

As social media becomes the norm for all generations, the Caribbean workplace now has to tackle the delicate balance between productivity, privacy and the integration of these media into job descriptions. There is a wide gamut of social media policies. Some companies have opted for direct prohibition while others simply have a more balanced approach appealing to common sense and the good judgment of their employees. Additionally, there is a raging debate surrounding the legality of using social media to screen candidates in the recruitment process or even while they remain employed. The conference will explore all these issues.
