GREENspot DROPoff and Hogan Self Storage Bring Innovative E-Waste Recycling Program to New Jersey

PENNINGTON, N.J. - April 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Hogan Self Storage http://www.hoganstorage.com joins the GREENspot program to provide free and convenient e-waste recycling collection to residents of NJ. Beginning today, Hogan Self Storage will accept e-waste from the general public at 1577 Reed Rd. Pennington, NJ 08534.

E-waste, short for electronic waste, includes items such as televisions, computers, monitors, laptops, computer peripherals, printers and telephones. Batteries, light bulbs, and hazardous items are not accepted. For a complete list of acceptable items, visit http://www.gsdo.org.

According to the EPA, e-waste is the fastest growing waste stream in America and accounts for about 70% of our hazardous waste. To combat the growing problem, GREENspot DROPoff, Inc. has partnered with BAN (Basel Action Network) compliant recyclers. BAN regulations are by far the strictest in the industry, prohibiting recyclers from shipping material to be processed by third world labor and maintaining a zero landfill policy for hazardous material.

Proper recycling yields material that can be reused in new products. However, when e-waste is disposed of improperly, the elements cause it to break down over time. This can result in heavy metals like lead leaching into the ground water and represents a very serious risk to human health.
