After moving to Maine in 2000, I found the natural beauty of the coast speaking to me on a deeply personal level as I explored the wilderness of the tidal islands where the rocks meet the vastness of the ocean and the sky goes on forever. A serene co-mingling of the awe and groundedness I now feel is a result of those explorations and the foundation of my recent work. My intimate relationship with the reassuring majesty of nature not only inspires but also heals. For me, art is a tool of alchemy healing through expressive action which can, at its best, resonate with the interpretive participation of the witness. My personal focus as a painter is on a postive, energizing spirit as it manifests in our world today."
