April 18, 2014 - PRLog -- 11plus.co.uk, an educational website by Chuckra Ltd, is set to run their 8th 11+ preparation Mock Test Sessions from June to August 2014. The mock tests will be running at locations throughout the country and try to cover a range of cities and counties.  11+ Mock Tests are an invaluable resource for children preparing for the 11+ exam, as they are designed to help pupils overcome exam anxiety and give them a chance to test their knowledge. The 2014 Mocks are great preparation for CEM Durham style exams, as well as GL Assessment and other examining bodies.

The 11+ exams can be a source of great stress and apprehension for children and parents alike. Children taking the exam need to be able to deal with official exam environments, the material presented in the exams, and the knowledge that the exam is going to greatly affect their future education. It’s a lot to deal with, and children and parents need all the preparation they can get. Chuckra’s 11+ Mock Tests are designed with exactly this preparation in mind.

The 11+ will often be the first exam children ever sit and, as a result, nerves, inexperience of potential distractions, and time management issues can negatively affect their exam performance: distractions such as other students coughing or sneezing, invigilators walking past or whispering to students are commonplace in the actual exam, and students who come equipped with experience in dealing with them beforehand are much less likely to become distracted or agitated in the real exam. Chuckra’s 11+ Mock Tests help children and parents adapt to the testing conditions by exposing children to exam environments, venues and procedures, and the Mock Tests ultimately help acclimatise both children and parents. Parents will likely be worrying about their child and their performance, but once they witness their child sitting a successful Mock Test, their worries tend to lessen.

Mock Tests not only give children the chance to experience exam conditions - they also give children a valuable opportunity to put their studying and knowledge to the test. Their results can indicate where they might need more practice and preparation, but also where they excel. Chuckra’s papers are written specifically for their Mock Tests in order to guarantee that a child has never seen the test before, ensuring true exam conditions as well as providing great practice with never-before-seen questions. Parents can choose for their child to write a range of papers – A, B, C and or D: the availability of four papers means that children can get four unique practice days and tests.

Chuckra’s Mock Tests will run from June through to August at a number of secure venues around England. Locations include: Beaconsfield (Buckinghamshire), Barnet (London), Bexley (London), Essex (Chelmsford), Hertfortshire (Watford), Redbridge (London), Trafford (Manchester), and Surrey (Kingston). All four 11+ subjects will be tested, namely Verbal Reasoning (VR), Non-Verbal Reasoning (NVR), Mathematics & Numerical Reasoning, and English (Comprehension). One session (covering all of the subjects) is 2 hours and 50 minutes and costs £66 including VAT, and includes access to your child’s marked test, results and online rank; a summary of your child’s strengths and areas in need of improvement; explanations for each question while reviewing the test; and detailed feedback reports and analysis of the group’s performance. Reviewing results is done via Chuckra’s online testing system, the Chuckra Online Assessment Tool (COAsT). Sessions are non-refundable.

The tests will be in multiple-choice format, but it must be noted that children who will be writing standard-format exams can still benefit from the Mock Tests – the exam experience is invaluable, and the material covered is very similar, though parents should take special care in explaining to their children that their real 11+ exams will not be in the multiple-choice format.
