Costco to Host Book Signings for The Space Shuttle Endeavor Author

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - April 18, 2014 - PRLog -- In their colorful new series Images of Modern America, Arcadia Publishing takes a closer look at recent history through a collection of over 200 images. The Space Shuttle Endeavour, from local author Stephen Hayward Silberkraus, showcases a behind the scenes look at the renowned space shuttle.

This new pictorial history highlights the Space Shuttle Endeavour and shares her story. The shuttle was born out of tragedy as a replacement for the Shuttle Challenger. This new orbiter would perform many vital and historic missions for humanity over the course of her 25 missions and her 19-year career. Author Stephen Hayward Silberkraus pulled together a unique collection of images that displays how Endeavour inspired pride and admiration, due to her success fixing the Hubble Space Telescope, beginning construction of the International Space Station (ISS) and performing several Spacelab missions.

Endeavour’s story was not to end with 25 missions in space but with one final mission, mission 26, her move from Florida to her new home in California. This book also chronicles her last journey atop the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft and how Endeavour was flown piggyback across the United States for her final victory lap. Colorful images show millions of admirers waving and cheering as she was carried through the streets of Los Angeles to her final destination, the California Science Center in Downtown Los Angeles.
