Murphy will speak about his experience, as a husband/caregiver, moving through diagnosis, treatment and post-cancer treatment life with his wife. He will present his unique perspective on the emotional impact of cancer coming into the life of an individual and couple. He is a former truck driver, teacher and firefighter, who, since 1981, has been a courtroom lawyer. He now resides in Kentucky and is founder of the Phyllis Foundation, a non-profit focusing on getting the word out about the emotional impact of cancer on the lives of individuals and couples.
“We are fortunate to bring Kevin to our area to share his experience and wisdom,” said Megan Bettencourt, Executive Director of The Cancer Support Community of MA South Shore. “This is a wonderfully poignant look of a couple’s journey through diagnosis, treatment and the fall out of a cancer diagnosis. Readers have found the book to be remarkable and an inspiration.”
