Injury Lawyer Bernard Walsh On Efforts By Florida Congressmen to Erode Malpractice Victims Rights

BRADENTON, Fla. - April 18, 2014 - PRLog -- April 9th members of the Florida legislature representing the interest of special interest business groups again attempted to undermine the rights of victims of medical malpractice by starting a new push to create a cap on injury compensation.

The cap has already been challenged many times in the past and each time has been defeated. A Florida Supreme Court ruling struck down the cap on compensation for certain kinds of medical malpractice cases as unconstitutional.

However not to be deterred, members of a “task force” created to support the interests of big business wrote to both the President of the Florida State Senate, Don Gaetz and the House Speaker Will Weatherford requesting an amendment to the Florida  constitution as a means of circumventing the Supreme Court's previous rulings.
