Prevention of cyber crime economic offences has become important with the advent of various electronic channels of payment. Offences in the cyber space have taken various forms and therefore it is vital that law enforcement authorities are also equipped to handle such cases.
HDFC Bank has therefore created a 2-day training programme on cyber crime for Delhi Police. The course content of the training programme has been created in partnership with Mahindra Special Services Group (MSSG). More than 50 senior Police officers from different regions across Delhi are expected to participate in the training programme. The programme will cover various aspects of investigating cyber crime such as how to identify and deal with skimming scams, vishing, phishing, data counterfeiting, SIM duplication and email threats among others.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. V .V Choudhary, Additional Commissioner of Police, Delhi and Mr Jitendra Mani, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police – North East district, Delhi along with Mr Vishal Salvi, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) HDFC Bank and Mr Vijay Kamath, Head- Risk Intelligence & Control (RIC), HDFC Bank.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr Vishal Salvi, CISO, HDFC Bank said, “The endeavour of this programme is to partner with law enforcement authorities and equip them with appropriate skill sets to tackle cyber crime economic offences with the help of real-life examples and case studies. We’d like to thank the Delhi police for extending their support and co-operation in setting up this programme, which is a part of our larger Secure Banking Initiative.”
In addition to the training programme for law enforcement authorities, HDFC Bank also conducts workshops for its customers at various branches under its Secure Banking initiative. These workshops aim to educate customers and raise awareness about precautions they need to take while conducting banking transactions;
