KOLKATA, India - April 16, 2014 - PRLog -- The author, Amitabha Majumdar was born in Kolkata and at present resides in Vadodara. He is a frequent traveler both in India as well as abroad. He has resided in international cities like Tashkant, Almaty and Dar Es Salam and has travelled to many countries like Russia, Ukraine and other CIS nations. He enjoys interacting with people of different nations and makes an attempt to understand their culture. He loves to share his experiences about life that he has seen, learnt and listened to in these many years with others. He has spent some time of his life in Tashkant and has learnt Russian during that period. Writing has been his passion and till now his writing in forms of poems and short stories, in small portion primarily in Bengali, has made appearances in magazines of Kolkata and Vadodara. This is his first novel and the second one is in progress.

This book is all about relationship, the pain and agony when a marital relationship ends and is abandoned, the consequences and realizations one undergoes while this happens. It is about the story of Yana who fell in love with Ivan. She was so desperately in love that the huge gap in their living standard and culture bring no difference to her. She went on to marry Ivan ignoring everything that came in between. But the love was short-lived and the relation was soon abandoned. An undeterred Yana went on to live a successful and happy life with her daughter. Life was holding something else for her, she met Nicolai and fell in love with him. Nicolai witnessed a similar situation like her and was separated from his wife. Both of them had faith in the institution of marriage and they believed that it was a firm relation that was there to stay.  They decided to get married. Things changed suddenly a day before all this was set to happen. Yana met Ivan in a park and was surprised to know that he was an AIDS patient and was about to die. The book is an emotional story that questions the institution of marriage, its sanctity and presence in the modern world. It is worth reading for every married couple and they are definite of finding glimpses of their own life here.
