River Expeditions Announces Dates For Their 2014 “Spring Fling” White Water Rafting Weekends

OAK HILL, W.Va. - April 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Spring is finally here and we are welcoming it with open arms! This May, join River Expeditions as they celebrate the warmer weather with their Spring Fling Weekend Specials. On select weekends, receive a discount off the usual rate! Combined with the unique and small town beauty of Oak Hill, guests are guaranteed a weekend to remember. The 2014 dates of this special are May 3, 10, and 17. Packages include a weekend of white water rafting, BBQ  cookout after rafting, 2 nights of camping, and a lite breakfast daily. Springtime turns the New River into the largest volume Class V white water river in the USA. This thrilling trip features moderate and difficult rapids resultant of high water volume in narrow gorges. It also includes more mild options for newer rafters. Adventure-goers will experience extras such as “Jump Rock”, “Swimmer’s Rapid” and even “surfing”… West Virginia style!! These fun activities are a fantastic way to experience the beginning of summer, with water temperatures averaging 71 degrees in May.

River Expeditions outfits rafting trips on the New River daily from April to October. Guests can expect to navigate the river on an inflatable raft for about 5-7 hours – including a break for lunch. No experience is necessary on the milder sections of the river, but some is recommended for the more difficult and fast sections of the water. The ability to swim isn’t required either! All guests are equipped with a Coast Guard approved Type V Life Jacket, Paddle, and Helmet.
