Warner Peacock of New River Auto Mall Honored During Industry Appreciation Week

April 15, 2014 - PRLog -- The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce recognized companies and individuals from throughout the state during their 24th annual Industry Appreciation Week, which ran from March 31 to April 4, 2014. Among those honored at the awards presentation held on Thursday, April 3, was Warner Peacock, the President and CEO of New River Auto Mall (http://www.newriverautomall.com/our-history/).

The prestigious Industry Appreciation Week awards are given to individuals from each of South Carolina’s 46 counties, who are thereby formally recognized as Ambassadors for Economic Development of their particular county. Recipients of the award are chosen from a wide range of community leaders. These ambassadors for local businesses in the private sector, along with local organizations that are dedicated to economic development, support such causes as job creation and investment in the community. Peacock was honored as Jasper County Ambassador for Economic Development.

Peacock has spent most of his life in the automotive industry, and as the head of New River Auto Mall, has been serving Lowcountry and coastal Georgia residents for the past 12 years.

The New River Auto Mall is considered to be among the largest automobile dealerships currently operating in the entire southeastern United States. Featuring 9 dealerships that represent 15 auto brands, the Auto Mall employs over 350 people, making the company one of the largest employers in the region. Under Peacock’s direction, the Auto Mall has also become one of the most active sponsors of community and charity events in the area.

This commitment to community involvement is a key part of Peacock’s vision, and his success as both a business and community leader was the major factor in his being chosen as this year’s Ambassador for Economic Development in Jasper County.

Also recognized along with the 46 award winning community leaders during the Industry Appreciation Week awards ceremony were five young entrepreneurs who were chosen for the philanthropic work they have conducted within their individual communities. Governor Nikki Haley also took part in the awards ceremony, and all award winners were provided a photo op with the governor.

Recognizing individuals and organizations that contribute to local economic development is what Industry Appreciation Week is all about, and Warner Peacock and New River Auto Mall certainly exemplify that commitment to the community.
