MONTGOMERY, Ala. - April 14, 2014 - PRLog -- (April 2014) J.R. Miller & Associates (JRMA), a national architecture, planning, and engineering firm based in Brea, California is proud to announce they attended the grand opening of Phase I of the Infinitus Renewable Energy Park (IREP at Montgomery) located at 1551 Louisville Street in Montgomery, Alabama.

The Infinitus Renewable Energy Park (IREP at Montgomery) project consists of a state-of-the-art Mixed-Waste Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) that will support the City's “single bin” collection program and significantly increase recycling. This new facility will become one of the country's most advanced integrated waste recovery facilities in the United States.

JRMA's CEO, Jim Miller shares, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of the celebration with the Montgomery community, Infinitus, and local officials. When JRMA first started working on the preliminary site and conceptual architectural designs for the facility, we took into consideration the impact this facility will have on the community, what the facility goals were for the future and
how best to meet as many dream-list items as possible. It is exciting to put into practice our firm's 30 year history to deliver a leading facility that benefits the community right now, as well as in the future and helps Montgomery reach a significant level of recycling and Solid Waste diversion."

JRMA designers worked closely with Infinitus to program the facility needs and then prepared a conceptual design consisting of a site plan that focused on optimizing use of the property to maximum efficiency. In addition, building floor plans and sections were developed to most effectively integrate the Materials Recovery Facility process equipment. The design allows for future MRF expansion and the addition of an Anaerobic Digestion facility while preserving essential functions and adjacencies. IREP also provides a scale house complex with inbound and outbound scales; 6,000 s.f. office, employee center, and driver break room; rail spur for shipping recycled commodities; and traffic circulation that minimizes on-site timeframes for collection trucks.
