PHOENIX - April 14, 2014 - PRLog -- To stretch or not to stretch, that is the question. According to Phoenix fitness specialist, Damian Motlo, Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is unlike traditional warm-up exercises used prior to a workout. According to Motlo, “AIS therapy allows the body to become more flexible and mobile by improving one’s overall range of motion and works more quickly than other forms of stretching. Having increased mobility can also positively impact athletic performance."

“AIS helps facilitate blood flow and oxygenation in the muscles using gentle and rhythmic movements,” says Motlo. His mobile service provides the innovative therapy to individuals in the home or office throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan area.

One client, 55 year-old Merilee S., says that “Damian uses stretching techniques that I had never seen before. I literally felt like I had a new body after one session.”  He adds that many of clients even report a greater sense of well-being after AIS sessions.

Motlo, a Stretch Therapist and Nationally Certified Personal Trainer, says “People of all ages are good candidates for the technique. Athletes who use the therapy often find that their performance improves and may make them less susceptible to injury. ”

Motlo has provided AIS therapy to Professional Golfers from the PGA and LPGA, to the ASU Women’s and Men’s Golf Teams and to athletes with minor league baseball organizations.

AIS sessions are typically one hour in length and participants should be comfortably clothed. Stretching can begin from a massage table or a chair. Motlo offers single sessions or packages for a reduced rate. Office visits are also available as part of corporate wellness programs.  Free initial consultations are available.

“Someone who sits for long periods at a computer is an ideal candidate for this technique. Individuals with Sciatica, Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, posture issues and even the elderly can benefit from AIS therapy,” says Motlo. “

He adds that individuals often experience a reduction in pain from a variety of conditions when using the therapy on a regular basis.

Active Isolated Stretching was developed by Florida Physical Therapist Aaron Mattes.  Motlo was trained in the therapy in 2006 and has worked with clients across the country. He says he believes in taking a holistic approach to health and wellness and also provides personal training, nutrition guidance and lifestyle coaching services in addition to his stretch therapy services.

“My mission is to focus on 4 key components of wellness: Fitness, Flexibility, Food and the Future. I often challenge belief systems in my clients. In order to obtain optimal health, people really need to look at changing their behavior in order to improve their health and move forward."
