DELHI, India - April 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Indian Military Review (IMR),a monthly magazine published from New Delhi claims, quoting unnammed Indian Air Force (IAF) sources, that the brand new C130J Super Hercules crashed, on 28 March, due to pilot error.

"IAF officers familiar with the investigation told IMR that it was likely the aircarft could not recover froma dive on time, scrapping a hillock and casuing its destruction", wrote the aersospace correspondent of IMR.

The IAF gave no reason fore the crash. The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and flight data recorder (FDR) have been sent to the US for decoding and a court of inquiry haas been ordered by the IAF.

The ill-fated C130J aircraft was one of the two which had taken off around 10am for a low-level tactical navigation mission that was scheduled to end at the point of its origin.  Eye witnesses said the plane exploded on hitting a hillock.

The aircraft, inducted in 2010, was flying only with the air crew and without any load as it was on a training mission.

The crash happened one month after the Indian Navy chief Admiral DK Joshi resigned taking moral responsibility for a spate of accidents involviong Indian warships and submarines.
