Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce releases 2014 Centennial Summer Escape Guide

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - April 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Vintage photos, modern stories, event calendar and coupons have packed the Southern Ocean County Chamber Escape Guide in time for the organization's 100th Anniversary.  35,000 copies are produced highlighting the region year round; thousands are placed in local rental packages during the summer, sent to state visitor centers as the region's main fulfillment piece, handed out at events and mailed out by request throughout the year.

As part of the Southern Ocean County Chamber 100th celebration, this edition features archive photos that pair with up to date happenings to create a sense of continued service that began in 1914. The Southern Ocean County Chamber kicked off the countdown to a century of service last May with a year long coffee with the chamber program each Wednesday. Hundreds of members, residents and visitors have stopped in to view archives and chat with chamber staff. An historic Old Times luncheon took place in November with a panel of long time business owners discussing past challenges and successes that they have experienced along with accolades from Congress, New Jersey Governor office, Ocean County Freeholders and recognition from NJ Biz for being named a Top Chamber in New Jersey. It also kicked off the Spotlight Salute campaign involving business districts throughout the region to join in the spirit of 100 years of success as an organization run by businesspeople for businesspeople.

2014 began with the first business meeting of its 100th year with another packed ballroom in January which featured strategic plan, Regional Business Development Council, public relations outline and news of being one of 172 organizations world wide to receive destination accreditation from DMAI Washington DC.  February featured the NJ Hall of Fame and day of consumer engagement at the Centennial Family Expo. With the Centennial Summer Escape guide launching in April and plans for a spectacular 100th Gala at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences on May 15 it has been a year to truly mark a century.
