Australian Designer Perihan Tufan's Art Work Featured at Katy Perry's Greatest Video Clip Dark Horse

Katy Perry's Smashing Video Clip "Dark Horse" featured Award Winning Australian Designer Perihan Tufan's Ancient Egyptian Revival Wearable Art Jewellery and Costume Designs

BALMAIN, Australia - April 10, 2014 - PRLog -- True or false: everything in Ancient Egypt was neon pink

In this ancient Egypt - themed video clip, Katy taps the aesthetic of ancient Egypt and reinvents herself as Katy Patra, the homicidal Hello Kitty response to Liz Taylor's Cleopatra. Katy Patra, Queen of Memphis, Egypt, spends most of this video zapping an endless line of potential lovers into nothingness when they displease her (which they always seem to). Even a cameo from viral dog star Jiff the Pomeranian doesn't melt her heart.

The ancient Egypt- themed 'Dark Horse' video clip features brilliant  team of talented set designer's Egyptian Revival creations. Award winning Australian Designer Perihan Tufan created ancient Egyptian Revival wearable art jewellery and accessorie collection for Katy Perry's  "Dark Horse" video clip.

Her colourful extravagant collection of hand carved turquoise, lapis, coral 24K gold wearable art jewellery and accessories  featured in Katy Perry's smashing video clip "Dark Horse". She also known with amazing creations of  head pieces for Lady Gaga and statement jewellery for celebrities. Her Egytian Revial jewellery designs quickly became collectable and showcased in art museums around the globe.

Behind every stylish pop star is an incredible wardrobe stylist, and in the case of Katy Perry (http://au.eonline.com/news/katy_perry), that creative genius is Johnny Wujek.

Wujek has a long list of cool celebrity clients (Kate Mara (http://au.eonline.com/news/kate_mara) and Amber Heard (http://au.eonline.com/news/amber_heard), just to name a few) these days, with Perry at the top of his list—and for good reason!

The stylist, who cites designers like Christopher Kane, Thom Browne, Jeremy Scott, Alexander McQueen and Jean Paul Gaultier among his favorite designers, tells us that he actually first met Perry on casual terms.

"She hit on me at a party!" he laughed, of their fateful meeting.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Katy appears in the outfit we saw in the teaser. The dress, which is long-sleeved with a geometric-print bodice cascading into a sheer skirt, was designed by Nicolas Jebran, who also designed her neon Brits performance outfit. It's the accessories that really finish off this throned Katy Patra look, though: Perihan Tufan necklace, bracelet and earrings, a custom cobra headpiece, and of course, that grill (designed and conceived by Johnny Wujek and custom made by Dr. Dorfman Beverly Hills with one million dollars worth of diamonds). Even still, it's kinda hard to focus on what she's wearing, TBH, because Tobias Funke has cloned himself and is hanging out with Egyptian cats behind her.

At first glance, Katy Perry’s latest music video, the Egypt-themed fantasy “Dark Horse,” seems to bear little resemblance to actual Egyptian history — but you might want to look twice. The clip’s director says there’s good reason for the Egyptian references, and prominent Egyptologists say that reason is good enough for them.
