Melinda Davis Lux Named South Carolina Women in Business Advocate of the Year

GREENVILLE, S.C. - April 10, 2014 - PRLog -- The U.S. Small Business Administration has named Melinda Davis Lux the 2014 South Carolina Women in Business Advocate of the Year.  This award honors an individual who has provided outstanding support for the state’s female entrepreneurs through outreach, education, and advocacy efforts.

“In the past four years, we’ve witnessed a rise in award-winning South Carolina entrepreneurs who are women.  I believe this is due in large part to outstanding advocates like Melinda Davis Lux.  Her significant efforts and accomplishments as a mentor to and ally of women in business makes her an invaluable asset to South Carolina’s small business community,” said Elliott Cooper, district director of the SBA South Carolina District Office.

Melinda Davis Lux focuses her practice at Wyche on complex business deals, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and financing transactions.  She is a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Committee of the American Bar Association, a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, an Advisory Board Member for the Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Clemson University, a Board Member of the Greenville Symphony Association, and a member of the Greenville Professional Women’s Forum.  Davis Lux is also an Adjunct Professor at Clemson University College of Business and Behavioral Science.  She is a graduate of Yale Law School and earned an MBA from Clemson University.
