Collagen Criminals Strike in Pennsylvania

Thieves hit GNC store; collagen caper shows that even criminals know that beautiful skin is always in

April 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Irvine, Calif. – Need more proof that the collagen craze is real?

Police near Pittsburgh are after three people caught on a store surveillance camera stealing items from a GNC store – including NeoCell collagen.

Local police say it’s not the typical hot item that shoplifters are after.

“Collagen enhancers, not something we’re used to seeing,” Sgt. Ben Dripps told WPXI-TV.

So is this the work of thieves desperate for smoother skin, stronger nails and thicker, shinier hair? Is beautiful skin “in” even behind bars?

Police suspect the thieves were actually off to sell the items on the black market.

Maybe they’re aware of the collagen craze; sales of collagen reportedly rose 200% last year.

Law-abiding citizens shopping at GNC will find several NeoCell collagen options, including Super Collagen Powder, Collagen + C tablets, Beauty Bursts and Collagen + C Blueberry liquid.
