International School of Arizona Middle School Expansion

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - April 9, 2014 - PRLog -- The International School of Arizona (ISA), Arizona’s premier private school, offering outstanding preschool and elementary education through second language immersion in French and Spanish will be adding a French Middle School for the 2014/2015 school year and plans to include a Spanish Middle school in future years.

ISA has grown from 15 students in 1998 to nearly 300 students today with a staff of over 30 teachers from all over the globe. ISA will provide students with an international middle school language immersion program accredited by the French Ministry of Education (agence pour l’enseignement français à l’étranger) and the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science’s accrediting division for school Abroad (Instituto Cervantes). The school is also awaiting confirmation of a third accreditation, expected in Summer 2014, from the American entity AdvancED. It will be the only middle school in AZ with classes taught 50/50 combining the best of the rigorous French curriculum enhanced by the American curriculum and therefore combining the best of both worlds.

Multilingualism: a definite advantage in an increasingly globalized world

Research shows that bilingual children consistently surpass their monolingual peers on standardized tests, not only on English language subjects, but also in math and science. An article published in The New York Times in January 2014 states that in New York’s Schools "the French dual-language program, in which half the classes are in French and the other half in English, is booming" and that in an increasingly globalized world multilingualism is very important for a student’s future employment possibilities.

ISA would like to raise awareness to parents in the community about their exceptional language immersion programs and establish the same advanced education already offered in other big cities in the United States therefore helping Phoenix advance in the arena of global education at the middle school grade levels.
