Shutts & Bowen's Alexander Tachmes becomes Founder of Mount Sinai Medical Center

MIAMI - April 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Reflecting his strong commitment to the health and well-being of his community, Alexander I. Tachmes (http://www.shutts.com/attorneys-Alexander-Tachmes.html), a partner in Shutts & Bowen (http://www.shutts.com)’s Real Estate and Land Use Department in Miami, recently made a pledge to become a Founder of Mount Sinai Medical Center.

The Founders Club is the most time-honored philanthropic group within the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation. Each member contributes $50,000 to support Mount Sinai, South Florida’s largest private, independent not-for-profit teaching hospital. As the only hospital in Miami Beach, Mount Sinai serves as a beacon of health care for the city, its residents and its visitors. In addition, Mount Sinai’s affiliation with New York’s Columbia University gives area residents access to the region’s only Ivy League-backed cardiology and urology programs.

A resident of Miami Beach, Mr. Tachmes has strong roots in the city. He is a former First Assistant City Attorney serving as counsel to the city in the development of the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. The $150-million, 800-room convention center, hotel and parking complex on public land was one of the largest public-private transactions in Miami Beach history.

Today, Mr. Tachmes represents developers, property owners, and other clients in governmental matters pertaining to land use, zoning, and real estate, as well as commercial property transactions of all kinds. He has a substantial number of hospitality industry clients, ranging from major publicly-traded firms to boutique hotel companies.
