g2 Energy " Connecting you to the Grid"

April 8, 2014 - PRLog -- During the first 3 months of 2014, g2 Energy has successfully completed 25 individual renewable energy projects, with a total generation export capacity in excess of 220 Megawatts (MW). The UK wide projects include 20 large scale Solar Farms and 5 single Wind Turbine sites.

It is estimated that g2 Energy has completed various scopes of work on projects equating to almost a third (31%) of the anticipated total connected capacity for Solar Farms in the UK during Q1 2014. This is calculated from figures provided by NPD Solarbuzz*, where 700MW of ground mounted PV was predicted to be connected between January & March 2014.

g2 Energy are High Voltage Electrical and Civil engineers who specialise in the design and construction of ‘Balance of Plant’ electrical infrastructure, Contestable Works and grid connections. Growth in recent years has contributed to g2 Energy being ranked 10th on the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table in 2013, which recognises the UK’s fastest growing privately owned companies.

This is the third year running that g2 Energy, a Lloyds NERs registered Independent Connection Provider (ICP), has achieved a 100% record of completing all contracted renewable energy projects within the desired timescales for clients.

For clients with large scale solar projects, completing works on site by the 31st March 2014 was of huge importance. The challenge was to ensure that all 20 sites were live and exporting before the 1st April 2014 deadline that saw the Renewable Obligation rate (RO) reduce down from 1.6 ROCs to 1.4 ROCs.

Each completed project has undergone a full detailed design, carried out in-house by experienced Civil and Electrical design engineers, as well as Project Managers facing all sorts of adverse weather challenges on site since January. The warehouse facility in Milton Keynes has built out 30 Containerised Substations since November which has been a major advantage to g2 Energy, resulting in builds on site being quicker and more efficient, giving them a commercial & timescale advantages.

To date, g2 Energy has connected in excess of 370MW of renewable energy to the grid, with a further 300MW dues to be connected in 2014. Currently in progress is:

• 19 Wind Turbine sites

• 19 Large Scale Solar Farms

• 2 Energy from Waste projects
