By: The Forgotten Children “There are over 100,000 homeless children under the age of ten in Senegal. They have no shelter, no family, no education and there are no resources to help them. “We decided to make a difference and we felt the best way to raise money to help these kids is to do something everyone will really enjoy. A true celebration of life.” Says Elijah Ndoye, an Arizona resident, who is originally from Senegal and is the founder and president of The Forgotten Children. The organization has successfully built a home, sent supplies of food, clothing and health supplies for the children and the caregivers who watch over the orphans. With the dedication and continuation of sending fulfilling the needs of the children The Forgotten Children Organization has established creditability in the local government and worthy of local assistance in procuring the needed real estate to achieve the goals of The Forgotten Children organization, which is to build a boarding school that will provide a safe housing, education and job training for the orphaned children in Mbour, Senegal. “We can give them hope where it simply didn’t exist before and all you have to do is come and have fun and enjoy some great food.” Says Richard Noel, noted Caribbean style musician and event organizer, best known locally for his role in organizing the annual Tucson Meet Yourself events and for his work with his band “Sticks and Fingers” (www.rdnoel.com) Where: Armory Park Center Ballroom 220 South 5th Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85745 Concert Details: Event begins at 6 – 9 p.m., please arrive early.
