Placer County Chooses LiveMUM to Assist with Budget Cuts

SAN DIEGO - April 7, 2014 - PRLog -- The Western Placer County Fire Chief Association has selected Deccan International’s LiveMUM (Live Move-up Module) software solution to assist with increased dispatch efficiency and improved service to citizens. Grant funding was secured for the project through a coordinated effort with Placer County OES and all Western Placer County public Safety Agencies.

With over 35,000 requests for assistance from the public every year, Western Placer County fire departments and districts are busier than ever, serving one of the fastest growing regions in California. However, like most fire agencies across the nation, Placer County has been recently challenged with budget cuts and limited resources.

Deccan International will equip the Placer County region with a dynamic deployment software solution that uses real-time and historical data to track apparatus and personnel and help dispatchers efficiently allocate resources and minimize delays in emergency response.

LiveMUM will interact with Think Stream to coordinate Western Placer County ‘s five Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to determine when and where temporary asset relocations (i.e.  move-ups) are necessary and provide recommendations on how to temporarily relocate its assets.  The software will initially be employed at four dispatch centers (Placer County, Rocklin, Lincoln and CAL Fire), covering the service area of 21 stations.

Currently, LiveMUM is being successfully used at Austin-Travis County EMS and the Austin City Fire Department, Alameda County and City fire departments, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, Seattle Fire Department,  and over sixty other cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
