Indigenous Foods From Around the World Case Study

Boomer-Productions.com client case study for video, website and enhanced ebook production for CookingTipsTV.com

SAN FRANCISCO - April 8, 2014 - PRLog -- When video tapes of over 40 cooking schools from around the world showed up in a time-capsule box, Boomer-Productions stepped in to edit over 200 hours of footage and hundreds of slides. All the tapes were in analog format - not digital - since the camera used was a state-of-the-art Hi-8 model from twenty years ago.

So why edit it now? The recipes are indigenous classics prepared by some of the best food ambassadors from New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bali, Thailand and Europe. These recipes use ingredients available everywhere and are taught by passionate professionals who take pride in their country's cuisine. The recipes and chef's are true classics. Plus, the timing was perfect. The project was originally pitched to cable networks but because the crew consisted of one woman traveling solo around the world, and not SAG union members; strict rules were in place. This was way before Anthony Bourdain started his television career. Both Julia Child and the Galloping Gourmet had their very successful cooking series airing and were the inspiration for this project. They would travel and return telling tales of their trips only to repeat what chefs instructed them. The author thought that having cooking professionals instruct the viewer on their culture, recipes and cooking tips in their voice, would be authentic and enjoyable. And as we all know, the internet opened the door for online video to stream on all of our digital devices.

Opening the box and finding the files, slides, tapes, recipes and travel notes neatly packed away was reliving the solo adventure. We compiled all the multimedia by country, school and then drilled down to the recipes. CookingTipsTV.com was born with over 100 videos streaming online. Since there was so much information available, we wanted to take it a step further and designed an enhanced ebook to accompany the videos demonstrating the recipe on the page.

Cooking Tips From Around the World, a Culinary Travel Adventure has recipes, travel tales and video links conveniently showing how each cooking instructor prepares a recipe plus offers great tips along the way. The ebook is available on http://www.CookingTipsTV.com in an easy to read .pdf format.
