New England Celiac Conference features top celiac doctors, workshops

NORWOOD, Mass. - April 7, 2014 - PRLog -- The Healthy Villi is hosting the third New England Celiac Conference at Four Points by Sheraton in Norwood, MA on Sunday April 13, 2014. Keynote speakers will include Ciarán P. Kelly, MD, Medical Director of the Celiac Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Alan Leichtner, MD, Director of the Celiac Disease Program at Children's Hospital Boston and Alessio Fasano, MD, Director of the Center for Celiac Research at MassGeneral Hospital.

Workshops will include Naturally Healing Foods byChef Nadsa de Monteiro,owner of the Elephant Walk restaurant, Easter and Passover Desserts by Chef Oonagh Williams, How the Gluten Free Diet Affects Families: Challenges and Successful Strategies with Gonzalo Bacigalupe, EdD, MPH and Jessica Edwards George, PhD, Newly Diagnosed: Off to a Great Start! taught by Laurie Higgins, MS, RD, LDN, CDE and Staying on Top of it All with Pam Cureton, RD, LDN, Melinda Dennis, MS, RD, LDN and Karen Warman MS, RD, LDN.

CEUs are available for RDs. Over 25 vendors will offer gluten free products to sample and purchase. Gluten free breakfast and lunch will be served. A celiac screening study will be available to adult family members wishing to be tested for celiac disease.
