Law Education teaches high school students the basics of every day law and how the legal system and laws impact their daily lives. The Street Law textbook and course of study is used for the class as well as other similar classes throughout the state of South Carolina. Attorney Guthrie spoke on his perspective of the legal profession including what a typical day is like in his career, how he operates his law firm, the path from high school to becoming a lawyer, what law school and the South Carolina Bar Exam are like, the highs and lows of the a law career, some of the most interesting and entertaining aspects of law, and many other facets of the law life. Mr. Guthrie answered many of the questions from the students in the class including how to represent difficult clients in difficult situations, how much a lawyer gets compensated, and the best parts about being a lawyer. Attorney Evan Guthrie spoke and answered questions honestly and did not hold back in his responses to the students.

Mr. Guthrie regularly speaks to the Fort Dorchester High Law Education class year after year and likes to speak to the class at least once a semester during the school year.
