SANTEE, Calif. - April 6, 2014 - PRLog -- SAN DIEGO, CA – Father Joe’s Villages announces its second Online Specialty Auction in 2014, which began March 15th and will end April 8th, 2014 at 12:07 p.m. Through the past few months, high-valued donations made to Father Joe’s Villages were collected and set aside specifically for this unique on-line fundraising event. The highlight of the auction is a baseball signed by Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb, which has been authenticated by PSA/DNA.  “The provenance behind the ball is solid and should bring a pretty penny”, says Jason Hanks, CAI GPPA owner of Cal Auctions. The baseball was acquired during the 1945 “Boys All Star Baseball”’ game at Wrigley Field, where Cobb and Wagner were opposing managers.  The donor was given the ball by a player from the game and has preserved it for the past half century.  Notably one of Wagner’s  baseball cards sold for a record 2.1 million dollars at auction in 2013.

This event funds Village programs that bring positive change to the lives of those who need it most. “This is one of the easiest ways to support our mission to end homelessness,” says CEO Diane Stumph. “People can help a neighbor in need and support Father Joe’s Villages simply by shopping online.”
