The competition last March 14 in Washington DC aims to bring out the creative and innovative side of our future entrepreneurs, engineers and policy makers, by tapping into these young bright minds to resolve the energy-efficiency dilemma in buildings as part of the goal to reduce the global energy consumption of buildings in 2020.
Led by Nanavati Low, engineering students Michael Chang, Daniel Tjandra and Grace Vasiknanonte, competed against 150 students from 27 universities. The team focused on addressing the “Experimenting with Efficiency” case category wherein they developed strategies that are capable in increasing energy efficiency on college campuses.
In a recent interview by Berkeley newspaper, Low (Team Lead, Industrial Engineering Operations Research and Energy Resources Minor) said, "When people think about energy efficiency, they think of home-energy management, but people kind of forget about universities and leave it in the hands of other people. Right now, there are very few incentives to encourage universities and researchers to implement energy-efficient policies in their labs.”
The Golden EnergTech Team partnered with SlideModel's founder Julian who provided the Team access to its growing database of professional PowerPoint templates. The Team selected several business PowerPoint templates and designs that stimulates ideas to make the project more effective, and the Team more efficient.
From the introduction to the analysis phase, they chose the templates Company Profile PowerPoint, Scrum Diagrams for PowerPoint, 3D Circular Platforms for PowerPoint, 5 Step Cycle Process Diagram Template, and Table Template for PowerPoint.
